I didn't really have much of a choice. Maybe later on, but not now.
[A few minutes later and she thinks it might be dealt with. Finally.
Time to actually not be cryptic.]
I don't know the entire story, but there's a girl here who's losing control of her powers. She didn't want to hurt anyone around her, so I offered the house until she can get a hold of herself. And since I just spent the last half hour trying to calm her down, I'd really appreciate it if you just let her have her space for the next few days.
I'm not trying to deny you anything. But it doesn't have to be right now. And besides, there's no danger here for me at all, okay? She wouldn't even let me come anywhere near her for that exact reason.
Why not give me your little stray's number so I can call her myself. Or better yet, tell her mine and let her call me. Introductions are important, mm? And it might just keep me from being SOOOOO curious that I HAVE to go see for myself.
With a sigh, Chloe rolls her eyes and edges up from her desk, taking her phone with her so she can go outside and call him. Seriously, he's being far more difficult about this than she thought he'd be and it'd be far more efficient if she actually got to speak with him.
I'm not trying to keep you from it for the sake of it. I'm asking because I don't want anyone to get hurt. You, her, or anyone else who might be nearby.
All the more reason for me to at least make her acquaintance. What if something were to happen? Something terrible? Shouldn't she know who else to call if she's looking for you, mm?
She has my contact information. And from what I could tell, she already has a few people she could get in touch with in case of further emergency.
I just really, really don't want you to accidentally scare her and she freezes you in a giant block of ice. It's why I wanted to give you a warning in case you did want to go by there.
