[And maybe it's because the nature of their earlier conversation urging her to do it, or just because she liked to live dangerously. Either way, Chloe raises a brow at him and brushes along that sensitive spot on his wing again, watching the way his feathers shivered underneath her touch.]

[He moved to reach for her hand, stilling it, fingers clenched around hers before he started to draw her hand lower. Down his chest and further down to press against his half-hard cock that only grew firmer at her touch.]

[He smiled down at her, the wing cradled over her stretching for a moment, wafting up towards the ceiling before coming back down over her, feathers shifting and bring a cooling breeze with the movement.]

Handle as in being able to look at them without having my eyes melt out of my skull or going insane, you mean? I'm still trying to figure this whole 'miracle' thing out, honestly. No one here seems to have heard of anything like it. Aside from the obvious.

[Her palms open up to feel his wing as it came back down over her, the light breeze of motion wafting over her and lightly moving a few strands of her hair.]

[His hand came up and brushed over that wisp of hair floating because of the move, smiling as he watched her in the soft glow of the white surrounding her.]

It might be something special to our reality. Or our... pantheon, so to speak. With a host of the divine here, perhaps it's a 'God' thing and not so much a creature of the deities thing. Haven't quite come across any other angels or monotheist types.

Maybe. Still, you'd think that so many different people pulled from different realities would turn up some kind of lead, but apparently not. Even the books here only talk about prophets, which I am most definitely not.

[And no leads about figuring out this whole area of affect between them, either. Kind of a sticking point. But his smile has her turning and leaning further into him to kiss him.]

Handling you isn't that difficult, once you get used to it. Mostly.

[His hand trailed down to her shoulder, squeezing it through her shirt as she kissed him. He liked this, these little moments of just enjoying her company. Seeing her all relaxed and pleased were much better than her narrowed eyes or that tone she got when she said his name.]

[His hand was warm against her even through her clothes. She liked it when he just held her, both in hands and wings. It gave her a sense of safety and comfort she wasn't used to indulging in. Especially with this whole deity thing going on. She relaxed a little further against him, hand trailing over his wing again and just letting it rest there.]

For the most part. I'd like to think I know how you operate by this point, though you still find ways of surprising me at times. It's all part of your Luciferness, apparently.

[There was a soft laugh at that, his eyes crinkling around the edges as his hand moved to her back. His fingers slipped up under her shirt, but he kept his hand low, just at the small of her back, drawing little designs over her skin.]

You're the only one who's ever used that word before. I like it. Though, I like it more when you're not peeved when you say it.

It's really the only word to describe you. Besides, I'd say I'm pretty far from peeved at the moment.

[In fact, she looked quite relaxed as she laid out against and underneath him. She felt the way his fingers traced her back and let out a soft sigh, obviously content.]

Good. I was... well, worried. Earlier. With the... argument. Normally, you don't stay around when you've gotten to a certain point. There's a 'Lucifer!', a roll of the eyes, and then you're gone. I'm glad you didn't do that. I like this much more.

It's a little different when we're... well, more than work partners and you make an inappropriate comment. Getting up and leaving in the dead of night because you said something I disagree with isn't exactly going to solve the issue. That just comes with the territory.

[A pause, a quiet breath, his hand stilling on her back as he thought about how to phrase it.]

I can be wrong, Chloe. I know that. Not often, hopefully, but I'm not my Dad -- and even He can be wrong, contrary to the bloody book. I don't want to be so stuck up my own ass I can't admit that. Or see when it bothers you. You mean too much to me. I-- This does. This 'we' we have. I don't want to lose it over something ridiculous like thoughtless words.

[She's quiet throughout that explanation, pausing when he finishes as she tries to piece together her own words.]

I don't either. You, our thing-- it's important to me too. It has been for awhile. And I know that sometimes I could stand to be a little more patient. Sometimes I forget that you're not human or have the same thought process many of us might. Obviously I know who and what you are now, but it's hard to view you that way when you've just been... well, you this whole time. The weird, no-filtered guy who forced his way into my cases. Not some celestial being whose seen almost all there is to offer.

It does tend to change the perspective a bit. I can't blame you, love. Finding out that things you don't believe in and never have are suddenly real? It's why most minds break. It's what kept me from wanting to tell you for so long.

Aside from the other reason, you mean.

[Which was him being scared of her reaction. Of her rejecting him. She's smart enough to piece that together, and while she didn't like the idea of him hiding from her, she understands.]

My point is that even though I know everything now, it's still... a lot to get used to. Just when I think I'm used to something, something else comes through to knock that sense of security down.
